Nature and Wildlife

Breathtaking Walks: Enjoy beautiful walks through the indigenous bush and forests, offering breathtaking views and abundant bird life. Keep an eye out for our indigenous trees, many of which are named.
Abundant Wildlife: Our natural bush is home to rich nocturnal animals. You may spot buck, bush-pig, and porcupine—and who knows, perhaps even a night walk will reward you with a rare sighting (a leopard was once spotted!).
Peace and Water: Stroll along the banks of a picturesque little stream or spend your days by the dam, where you can boat, fish for bass, or swim in the summer.

A Touch of History

Historical Sites: Step back in time and discover fascinating local history right here in the park. You can spot a hideout wall used in the Boer War and evidence in the stream where Zulus used to sharpen their spears. It’s an opportunity for discovery that makes Glensheiling truly special.
